BBCN Bancorp, Inc. operates as the bank holding company for BBCN Bank that provides commercial banking services primarily to small-to medium-sized businesses and individuals in the United States. The company offers short-term and long-term deposits comprising personal and business checking accounts, money market accounts, savings, certificates of deposits, and individual retirement accounts. Its loan portfolio includes commercial business, commercial real estate, trade finance, and small business administration loans; commercial loans to businesses for various purposes, which consist of working capital, purchasing inventory, debt refinancing, business acquisitions, and other business related financing needs, as well as issues and advises on letters of credit for export and import businesses, and handles documentary collections; and consumer loans, such as auto loans, home equity, and signature loans. The company also provides cash management services, such as remote deposit capture, lock box, and ACH origination services; mobile banking application for smartphones; debit card services; travelers checks, safe deposit boxes, and other customary bank services; and Internet banking and bill-pay services, as well as operates automated teller machines. As of March 7, 2013, it operated 44 branches in California, New York, New Jersey, Washington, and Illinois; and 5 loan production offices in Seattle, Denver, Dallas, Atlanta, and Northern California. The company was formerly known as Nara Bancorp, Inc. and changed its name to BBCN Bancorp, Inc. in November 2011. BBCN Bancorp, Inc. was founded in 1989 and is headquartered in Los Angeles, California.
