Payment Data Systems, Inc., together with its subsidiaries, provides integrated electronic payment processing services comprising automated clearing house processing, and credit and debit card-based processing services to merchants and businesses in the United States. Its services include various forms of automated clearinghouse transaction processing, such as Re-presented Check, which is a consumer non-sufficient funds check that is re-presented for payment electronically rather than through the paper check collection system; and Accounts Receivable Check Conversion, a consumer paper check payment that is converted into an e-check. The company’s automated clearinghouse processing services enable merchants or businesses to disburse and collect funds electronically using e-checks. Its services also comprise merchant account services for the processing of card-based transactions through VISA and MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and JCB networks, including online terminal services accessed through a Website or retail services accessed via a physical terminal. In addition, the company offers a Web-based customer service application, which combines automated clearinghouse and card processing capabilities; and an interactive voice response telephone system to companies that accept payments directly from consumers over the telephone using e-checks or credit cards. Further, it creates, manages, and processes prepaid card programs for corporate clients who wish to provide an incentive to their customer base or employees in the form of a rebate, commission, or other incentive; and operates billx.com, a consumer Website focuses on offering bill payment services. The company markets and sells its products and services through direct contact by its sales personnel, as well as through non-exclusive resellers. Payment Data Systems, Inc. was founded in 1998 and is headquartered in San Antonio, Texas.
